Arauco and EPA TSCA TITLE VI, Formaldehyde standars for composite wood productsOthers
Re: Arauco North America status on formaldehyde emissions related to the EPA TSCA Title VI, Formaldehyde Standards for Composite Wood Products.
On July 27, 2016 EPA issued a prepublication version of the long-awaited EPA rule for Formaldehyde Emission Standards for Composite Wood Products. EPA indicates that the final rule will be published in the Federal register within 10 working days. One year after the EPA final rule is published, all regulated composite wood products must be certified as compliant with TSCA Title VI by an EPArecognized TPC
The new EPA rule defines formaldehyde emission limits from composite wood products that are identical to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Air Toxics Control Measure (ATCM).
All Arauco North America Particleboard and Medium Density Fiberboard mills are currently certified by the Composite Panel Association (CPA), an approved CARB third party certifier to comply with the CARB ATCM formaldehyde emission limits and will comply the EPA TSCA Title VI emission limits upon publication of the final rule.
