After an earthquake and tsunami devastated Chile’s southern central area on February 10, 2010, the Municipality of Constitución, the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism and ARAUCO signed a public-private alliance to develop a Master Plan for the Sustainable Reconstruction (PRESS) of the city of Constitución.

The purpose of the plan was to design a city based on a long term vision, recovering its relationship with the area’s geography in  order to have an impact on quality of life and strengthen the coexistence of industry and tourism.

PRESS is comprised of a portfolio of 28 projects that combined represent a total estimated investment of $67,000 million pesos. Today, more than 60% of the projects have already been completed or are being implemented, while the Mitigation Riverpark project and the Heated Swimming Pools project are being executed.
