AraucoPly is the smart, versatile choice for your next project.  Soffits, case goods, DIY projects, cabinets, underlayment, stair risers, crating - the possibilities are endless when selecting AraucoPly sanded.  All AraucoPly sanded panels are laid up on a composed core using exterior PF resin and 100% plantation grown radiata pine. Our faces are peeled from pruned logs which yield a much higher percentage of high quality veneer.  All sanded products are finished with a 150 grit face and a 120 grit back sand and are manufactured in accordance with the US PS 1-07 product standard. Our high quality sanding process allows for AraucoPly sanded panels to be easily finished with excellent results. Additionally all ACX and BCX products are PS 1 underlayment compliant and edge stamped as such by TECO and Pittsburgh Testing.

FINISHING RECOMMENDATIONS
To ensure optimum performance, AraucoPly sanded panels may be finished with natural finishes, stains, paints and enamels depending upon exposure and desired appearance. Always make sure that the finishes are formulated for use on wood. It is also recommended that the selected finish be applied on a sample of plywood containing typical color variations and patches to demonstrate the finished appearance and suitability of the product for its specific end use.

Color Toning - The easiest method uses a heavy bodied, non penetrating sealer containing non hiding pigments and companion stains for color.   A small amount of sealer is tinted with stains until the desired tone is achieved on a panel sample. Then the sample proportions of stain and sealer are mixed to provide enough for the entire job, applying the mixture with a brush or spray.  After drying and light sanding, a coat of clear finish is applied to give the desired luster and durability.

Semi Transparent Stains - These popular finishes provide color but allow the grain and other natural wood characteristics to show.  When light colors are used, only oil based, semi transparent stains are recommended in order to prevent discoloration of the finish by natural water-soluble compounds (extractives) found in the wood.

There are several other finishes available for plywood. When purchasing paint or stain products for use on sanded plywood, consult your professional paint supplier to confirm the product you are purchasing is recommended for that specific application.
